04th Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka - USA Business Council
Sri Lanka – USA Business Council (SLUSABC) which functions under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce held its 04th Annual General Meeting on 17th September 2020, re-electing Dr. Asanka Ratnayake, Director, Hayleys Advantis Ltd as the President of the SLUSABC for 2020/2021.
Her Excellency Alaina B. Teplitz, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Sri Lanka and the Maldives was the Chief Guest.
Mr. Sanji De Silva, Bileeta (Pvt) Ltd was elected as the Vice president and Mr. Mohan Mendis, Heritage Teas (Pvt) Ltd was elected as the Treasurer for the period 2020/2021.
CBL Natural Foods (Pvt) Ltd, Dipped Products PLC, Fanam International (Pvt) Ltd, Global Rubber Industries Pvt Ltd, HVA Foods PLC, MAC Holdings (Pvt) Ltd and Regency Teas (Pvt) Ltd were elected from the membership to serve on the Executive Committee of the Council.
Virtual Meeting with Mr. Ravinatha Aryasinha, Ambassador designate to USA
The Sri Lanka – USA Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce organized a Webinar titled “Supporting Investment in Indo – Pacific, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC)” on 07th December 2020. Keynote Speaker of the event was Mr. Ajay Rao, Regional Managing Director for South Asia at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC)
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the Sri Lanka – U.S.A. Business Council, with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Relations organized a Virtual Networking Session with Mr. Ravinatha Aryasinha, Ambassador designate to U.S.A. prior to his departure from Sri Lanka in October, 2020.
Webinar on Supporting Investment in the Indo-Pacific
The Sri Lanka – USA Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce organized a Webinar titled “Supporting Investment in Indo – Pacific, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC)” on 07th December 2020. Keynote Speaker of the event was Mr. Ajay Rao, Regional Managing Director for South Asia at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).
Meeting with Mr. Sanjaya Mohottala, Chairman, Board of Investment – Sri Lanka
The Executive Committee Members of the Council conducted a meeting with Mr. Sanjaya Mohottala, Chairman, Board of Investment – Sri Lanka was held on 09th March 2021 at Hilton Colombo.
The objective of this meeting was to discuss the mandate of the Sri Lanka – USA Business Council and identify how the council can support the companies doing business with Sri Lanka from USA and vice versa while supporting the BOI initiatives.
Meeting with Mr. Suresh de Mel, Chairman, Export Development Board
The Executive Committee Members of the Council conducted a meeting with Mr. Suresh de Mel, Chairman was held on 11th March 2021 at Hilton Colombo Residence.
The objective of this meeting was also to discuss the mandate of the Sri Lanka – USA Business Council and identify how the council can support the companies exporting USA, while supporting the EDB initiatives.
